Bella Energy is the new name of the oldest and most experienced solar company in Colorado.
Bella’s president, Jim Welch, has been a leader in the renewable energy
industry for almost 30 years. In 1982, Jim started the company as
Remote Power Inc, one of Colorado’s and the nation's very first
companies to sell and install solar electric systems. Remote Power is
credited with Colorado’s first solar electric commercial system (ESC
Building – 1985) and first utility power system (Platte River Power
Authority – 1988).
During the 90s, Remote Power continued its solar leadership,
managing the Nature Conservancy’s renewable energy program in the US
and Latin America. This included the largest off-grid solar project in
the country on Santa Cruz Island in 1998.
The name Bella Energy highlights what the company has become today
and – most importantly – what we are growing toward. We are employee
owned with 11 owners.
Today, Bella Energy offers clean energy solutions for Colorado
including solar electricity, energy efficiency, solar heating and wind
power.
Our solutions will evolve as the solar industry grows and we continue to lead.
