Design
Bella Energy brings over 100 years of combined experience in solar design to Colorado.
Bella Energy principals have led the renewable energy industry since the 1970s. Their solar electric and hot water systems projects across the globe are off grid, grid tied, commercial and residential.
In the 1990s, Jim Welch managed the Nature Conservancy's renewable energy program. Ken Olson helped found Solar Energy International, America’s leading solar training organization. Jim and Ken were co-authors of the first photovoltaic manual for the US Department of Energy in 1986, and it’s still setting the industry standards today.
Engineering
Our staff has five BAs and three MAs in engineering. Our accreditations include AEE energy management and sustainable development professional qualifications, plus four CoSEIA photovoltaic installation and six NAPCEP Certified Energy Practitioners certifications, the highest level of U.S. solar certification.
You’ll see our projects in harsh environments like oceans, mountain tops and deserts, on building structures like walls, roofs and awnings, in high wind using pole mounts and roof tops, and using integrated technologies like solar tile and membranes. Our zero energy home, one of Colorado’s first, combines solar thermal and electric systems with low energy heating and cooling systems wrapped in an efficient building envelope. Our systems power Pacific Islands and South American ecotourism facilities.
At Bella Energy, we strive to produce aesthetically pleasing solar designs to enhance your building’s look.
Installations
It is our priority to work safely, efficiently and effectively.
A project manager coordinates each installation, working with our on-staff licensed general contractor and master electrician. A web-based project management system tracks accounting, project management and implementation. Everything goes smoothly and is clear to the customer.
Our goal: customer delight with aesthetics and system installation. To date, we have successfully completed over a megawatt of solar energy projects.
